United Way of South Georgian Bay has been an integral part of the community since 1969. The mission of the United Way of South Georgian Bay is to improve lives and build community by engaging individuals and mobilizing collective action. To do this we aspire to:
- Raise and allocate funds in an efficient manner and ensure the effective delivery of services,
- Inspire people to make a difference,
- Respond to current and emerging social needs through the communities of the Towns of Collingwood and Wasaga Beach, the Township of Clearview and The Town of The Blue Mountains,
- Reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.
Our Priority is your community
United Way of South Georgian Bay is committed to building a strong and healthy community for all. The role of United Way is to match the resources of the community (the fundraising campaign) to those areas of greatest need. United Way agencies respond to health and social service issues in our community.
United Way is the largest non-government funder of health and social services programs in the South Georgian Bay area. We tackle our community's most pressing challenges, looking for solutions that will change lives.
United Way of South Georgian Bay currently provides funding to 13 community agencies which support a number of health and social service initiatives. In addition, United Way provides seed funding to new organizations and new programs through its New Initiatives Fund
At any given time staff of United Way are helping to facilitate or participating as a member of one or more community tables all working towards building a better community for all.
